IA Short Course Training Cycle Schedule

Cycle 1:  September 3 - November 2
 
Focus on stroke technique and full body movement in water. Awareness of body movement, head, neck and spine alignment and eliminating resistance all coupled with basic in and out of water conditioning.
 
Cycle 2:  November 4 - December 28
 
Focus on taking from Cycle 1 and building upon the stroke work and conditioning into more anaerobic threshold swimming and IM sets with middle distance (200/400) as the key training points. Balance with introduction of Speed work.
 
Cycle 3:  January 1 - March
 
Focus on continuing fast swimming with more refined work with starts/turns/finishes and a focus on championship swimming. High rest speed sets balanced with pace and threshold work. Lots of RELAYS!!
